Default Remington BDL 700 triggers?

I'm looking at a Remington 700 BDL in 30-06. I haven't shot a Remington bolt action in many years. How are the triggers on them? Are they adjustable at all? Thanks.

Triggers are fair. They come pretty bad, but you can adjust them to be a pretty nice clean break. I have seen one where I can't get the creep out.

Three screws. trigger pull, sear engagement and overtravel. There are a few sites on the web tells you how to adjust.

Be warned though, Remmington does not like you to mess with their triggers, they could possibly void your warranty should you ever need work done by them. That said they do need cleaned up a bit and I have been able to adjust mine with web helpand moderate skill.

You might be able to save a couple dollars by doing it yourself but in my hometown (small) I took my BDL to the gunsmith and for 15 dollars he's fixed any of my gun's triggers.

Like mentioned adjustable. It can be done as DIY (check quarterbore's site)or very reasonably by a gunsmith. If at all over your head do yourself a favour and take to a smith, safety is #1!!!!

Be vary careful adjusting that trigger. I've seen a number of accidental discharges over the years from 700s that had their trigger "worked on" by jacklegg gunsmiths.

Last year I boughtthree new700 recievers. The adjustment screws on all three triggers were "staked" and could not be turned. a little Dremel work freed them up. I had to replace the screws but the triggers were adjustable afterwards.

I just picked up a CDL in 30.06 and I put a Timney Trigger in it, works great.. But factory trigger was not a good trigger at all IMO..
