IMO there isn't a down side to the pistols. I'm thinking of getting one myself.
I like the fact that the slide is beefy and through hardened which produces hardness all the way through. Most every gun is case hardened which is basically surface hardening. Should make for long service life.
It's a simple design and I also like pistols that have been atleast somewhat rounded for smooth draw/holstering and it's got that along with the different grip inserts to custom-fit your particular hand.
My guy tells me he can get me one for 700 + tax w/ the nite sights.

Saw one tested on American Rifleman show if im correct. Some of the well known writers and pistol shooters really liked its performance. Had no malfunctions of any type.

I sure do hope its better then that turd called the sigma. the sigma was a total joke. it was supposed to rival the glock, it couldnt even be considered a rival to a bersa.

I had a chance to shoot both the 9 and 40 a couple of weeks ago and I believe S/W hit a home run with this gun. Very comfortable fit in your hand and very accurate. I have years of experience shooting the Glock and shoot it well, but the feel and trigger on this gun is exceptional compared to the Glock. I can see many L.E. agencies changing their duty sidearms to the M&P in the future.
