RE: Savage 7MM08
Some more advise. Don't rush it. shoot, clean, shoot, clean. it may seem to take forever but be patient. It will be worth it in the long run. And because stainless is more difficult to machine (it tends to leave a rougher surface), stainless barrels take longer to break in than chrome moly barrels.
Even after the breaking in process don't expect super tight groups. If you get them - great. But you may have to fire quite a few rounds before your groups tighten up.

RE: Savage 7MM08
I bought a savage scoutin 7mm-08(also my log in name)which has become by far my favorite gun and I have a couple to choose from including weatherby's remingtonsrugers and marlins. The scout has a 20" barrel and it is paper thin this rifle is very light. I decidednot to use the forward mounted scope.Andset up the gunlike savage's seirra model. Because of thethin barrel I thought I would not see the resultsI like not thecase. This gundoes not shotthe smallest groups outof all my guns. But it willconsistentlyprint 3/4 groups at 100 yards. And this without the accu trigger. I love this gun and caliber. Good luck with yours and have fun. My gunlikesthe seirra gameking140gr. and varget powder.
