Default American Classic

Looking into buying the Savage American Classic, probably in .308. Anybody know much about this rifle? Heard nothing but good about the trigger, and want something with a detachable magazine. Doesn't hurt that it's a real eye catcher, too. Any pros or cons?

This thread made me run over to there sight, have you looked at their Euro Classic? (don't know if you've been looking in stores or online.) IMHO its a better looking rifle and comes with monte carlo stock and iron sights. (something I wish more rifles came with nowadays)

Okie and 700,

You might run over to CZusa. I find there guns especially "pleasing" to the eyes and have heard only good things about them. They are more of a mauser-styled action and will be a little more than a savage but much. They make a full barrel-length stocked gun in some calibers (forget what they call the style...may manchlinner or something like that) that I at first hated, but the more I look at her the last few months the pretty she gets.[8D]
