Victory in Alaska for Disabled Crossbow Hunters!!!!
Victory in Alaska for Disabled Crossbow Hunters!!!!
Alaska will now allow disabled hunters to use a crossbow in the archery-only parts of the state. This decision was detailed in a letter written to the US Fish & Wildlife Service by Kevin Duffy, Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Details of the new system will come later.
This change is in direct response to the federal discrimination complaints filed by members of the Alliance for Disabled Sportsmen Rights. This victory comes on the heels of similar victories in California and Washington. Now there are only 7 states that still have bans on crossbows for disabled hunters.
More good news is expected to come at the end of this week. Stay tuned.
Thanks,
The Alliance for Disabled Sportsmen Rights
