Default cross bow won't consistently cock

Has anyone ever had a problem with getting your cross bow cocked? If so, what did you do to correct it?

Another "36th parallel" ???

I'd prob say your cocking rope is to long and not giving you the leverage you need to pull the string back for a positive hook up...

I always make my cocking rope as short as it can be made so that I accu ally have to pull the string back just a little to get the string hooks to grab string
