In my woods crossing stand well before daylight just to see the day come in. Saw 8 deer, all within range. Six spent like forever in the immediate vicinity of the stand eating mushrooms. One actually sniffed the rungs of my ladder, looked up at me but didn't see me as danger. Let em all walk.
Buck didn't show by 9, otta there for breakfast. Will be hunting the cornfield tonite, first there are mushrooms to be picked.

The cornfield produced. Now have venison to go with the 'shrooms.

Nice fork-tender buck I've been looking at since mid Sept. I had moved the stand from where they had gotten used to me being, left it sit for 4 days, first nite sit and he presented at 17 yards. Just an 8 pointer but I don't eat horns.
