To quiet a bow is a good thing. While you're cutting noise, you'll also be reducing the bows "jump" and vibrations, which will extend the life of the bows limbs.

Best place to start is where Wilcam posted for you. Get the Dissipater bars & the S5s silencers. These two items will do the most for cutting the noise for you & take no speed from the bow.

Next would be cat whiskers if it were me, yes it costs about 5fps.....so what..they'll also help a bit more with cutting down the noise.

You can also add a Flemish string......Boo custom makes a very, very good one & he knows Excals very well. He will also be glad to serve on cat whiskers for you & you'll then be sure they'll be where they'll do the most good for you. Nice part of this is Boo's strings are faster than stock ones, they increase the bows speed a bit. So you'll off set, the speed cost of the whiskers, and may even gain slightly.

Do those & see how you like it then.

Beyond this you only have: 1) A product called Bow Snuff, if this is used in the rail rather than foam, you'll really cut vibrations & some noise as well. 2) limb mushrooms, also cuts noise a bit........but again not a lot & does cost about 4-5fps.

Even if you do all these, deer at short to medium range are going to hear a Excal fire.

I've always thought that guys look at damping from the wrong angle. They say, "Deer will hear it anyway." And forget about how the cut in noise is also a cut in vibration & that helps to save wear on the limbs. Also that if the deer hears it, but instead of instant string jump, it lifts it's head to see what that softer noise (of a fully damped bow) was.....then he's toast.

Have a great day & season! !
