Default Easton Bloodrunners!

Easton Bloodrunners!
Just purchased 6 of these in 20" and going to put 125 grain mechanical broadheads. Any suggestions? Anyone else use this combo?

A suggestion ... try a fixed blade before investing in any of the mechanicals. Here's why.

I have never personally used any on my cross bow set-up, and have had absolutely no issues with accuracy, penetration or quick kills suing a 125 gr. Montec G-5.

I hunt with 4 men that also use cross bows. We 5 all once used compounds but due to one reason or another, mainly due to our advanced age, we all switched to cross bows about the same time a few seasons back. Two decided to go the mechanical route, and both of these guys have had lots of issues with clean kills. I cannot tell you how many hours we spent those first 2-3 seasons tracking ... and not finding deer after deer after deer. Not even with the help of excellent tracking dogs.

Both of these guys had had excellent results with the same mechanical broad head on their compounds so mase swense to us all to continue on but .... one day a couple years back one decided to try every different mechanical that he had purchased shooting at an old bag target. We were all stunned at what we saw. Some of these resulted in groups that were indeed all over the place, not even close to the tight groups he'd get using field points.

Because everything happens so fast we could not be sure why but suspect prestrike opening of the blades or something akin to that. Both stopped using the mechanicals. One settled with a Muzzy 3 blade 100 gr. and the other with the 125 gr. 3-blade Montecs like I use. Neither has had any issues with quick kills since. I wish someone could explain what we were experiencing. Heck if I know.

Guys,
I have to apologize about the incorrect name for my crossbow arrows.
They are not Bloodrunners , they are called Bloodline. Sorry

There are lots of great arrows available. Most all will perform excellent so budget is the limiting factor. It's hard to beat the Goldtip Laser arrows for hunting. Fixed blade broadheads never fail to perform extremely well SlickTricks tend to be the best , shooting to same point of impact as a field tip
The choice in arrows and BH's is really up to what work good for you and how much you want to spend.
I've never met a critter that care which arrow they were shot with. :-)

Might also try the BROADHEADS made for crossbows. My Rage crossbow broadheads shoot into nice tight groups and most deer and hogs drop under 80 meters.but the old wildcat pretty slow a faster bow might make them open up im buying a faster crowbow for the 2013 season hope I don`t have the same problem.
