Life of a Crossbow
Have a friend who is interested in purchasing a crossbow. He was at a local dealer the other day when the salesman stated that a crossbow would only last 250 shots or so. This sounded ridiculous to me. Would a properly cared for crossbow have a similar life expectancy as a compound bow?

i figure he was talking of serving lasting that many shots. my CB is 11 yrs oldhas shot over 7000 times. it should last another 89,000 shots or 50 yrs which ever comes 1st. actually i don't think it will wear out!

Actually he was looking at a Barnett or Horton....don't know which it was when the salesman told him this. Thanks for the opinions and insight.
What is the best deal in a crossbow right now, considering price, performance, and reliability?

that ? is like asking if my shoes will fit your feet! we don't know your likes or dislikes. you want a compound style or recurve ? some ppl love the speed others like it simple n easy to work on at home. others have shops work on theirs, the weight, how it feels in your hand.

Deals are in the of the beholder. You need to be a bit more specific as to your preferences, such as compound or recurve and price range. Would be a lot easier to address. BTW, you may want to add customer support and warranty into the mix.
