Barnett?

RE: Barnett?
My friend has one that I've used - I took a 6 point buck with it 3 years ago. It's the smallest model they make, but I don't remember what it's called. I shot it quite a bit before I took it out hunting. My friend had mounted a red-dot scope on it too.
My impressions were that it was very compact (the smallest full-power crossbow I've seen) and very quiet - the quietest crossbow I've shot. Accuracy & velocity were respectable for a bow that small. I got the impression that it would work really well inside of 25 yards. It seemed that the accuracy started to suffer and the small 17" arrows started to drop fast at longer ranges. But I took my buck at 7 yards, so it didn't bother me none.
My friend did mention that it went through strings really fast- he had to replace strings several times even though he didn't shoot it too much- a problem I've never had with my Horton. But otherwise, not a bad x-bow.

I don't considered bows with one yr warranty worth talking about.

I've used Parker service for my bow (string break) resulting in major problems. Very satisfactory and responsive.
My brother has owned two Barnett, nothing but trouble. As the old saw goes" "You get what you pay for...'
