Default broadheads

Im currently using g5 strikeers 100 grain.Ive had okay results with them but want better BLOOD TRAILS.Its seems like everyhead i use i cant get a decent trail.ive used muzzy mx3's,montecs,thunderheads,and many others with crappy results. So im going to try expandables this year.Im stuck on which ones though. The rocky mountain snypers look awesome and all the reviews online are good. And Vortex expandables look good with a 2 and half inch(100gr)cutting diameter. But some of the reviews say you need alot of ke to get a passthrough.ill be using them on my phoenix.any suggestions or reviews from anyone on here would be appriceiated.

I love the Vortex Mini-Max III with its 2" cutting diameter. I shot them out of my old Hoyt Trykon at 298fps. So I am sure you will have enough for pass throughs. They leave a great blood trail. I am going to try to get these heads to shoot, when I get my hands on my new StrykeForce.

But if you try these heads I think .... No I KNOW you will be pleased with them. I did have a bit of a pickel trying to get them to shoot out of my Trykon for some reason.

I still have 3 left over that I will test on my strykeforce to see if they can indeed shoot like field points.

Best of luck

try the rage 3 blades!!! You wont regret them... All had massive entry and exit holes and it was like trailing a stuck pig. The amount of blood after a shot comes more from shot placement than the head. Wide blade heads help, but you have to hit a major area to get good blood.

ive used rage for 3 years and havent lost one deer yet

X2 on the rage. I have not try the Rage3 but I do use the Rage2 100gr and have a 4-0 record.I took my biggest buck ever with that broadhead. I was just practicing last night off the deck to get a little higher shot then on the ground. the practices tip are nice, they are pretty close to dead on with the real head (I shoot mostly free hand ) after sited in on a bench. I am using a Horton 150 I think the FPS are 260 so at 29 yards I have a 3 inch difference to 20 yards. I need to move stuff in the back yard to get the full 30 yds shot. My wife got me some slicktrick for xmas but they are 125 gr. I try a few shot and they were so so. I do need to try them a little more to see I would make a change. hope this help. Bushanic

I am going to have to try something different, I used Rocky Mountain Revolution and they flew great, They don't make them anymore so its going to be Rage,if they shoot accurately or the rocky mountain striker. Hopefully One will fly.
I have a Ten point stealth 11.

X3 on the Rage. I've been successful with 2's and 3's both, though I'm more comfortable with the 3 blades.

My only question with regards to the Rage heads is their durability. I have read many threads on blades breaking and the such. SO jury is out with them for me. But they do cause umbelieveable damage for sure. They are tempting me though.

I have had good luck with NAP 125 gr. Spitfire broadheads. Complete pass through and a good blood trail. They shoot to the same poi as my 125 gr. field points. They would work excellent with your phoenix.

I used the Crimson Cudas this year and shot one deer with them. They left a awsome blood trail did a lot of damage ( pass through )deer went 30 yards. The head was still in good shape no broken blades. I will use them again this year and hopfully get out more with the crossbow.
