Hello all, I just received a Horton Yukon SL crossbow. My questions are, what are the most cost effiecent ways to quiten it some, what are the best arrows and broadheads in your opinion? Is there any tips or tricks anyone can give me? I have hunted for years with guns, but I shot a friends crossbow and fell in love. Any help will be great, Thank you in advance.
P.S. will only be using it to hunt whitetail deer and turkey.

Thanks for that advice, I am in England, 30 minutes south of North Little Rock. I was not real far from you week before last, went hunting at a friends in Dierks.
On the Broadheads, are they all the same, ie. BH for compund veritcle bow's are the same for crossbow? I am new to bowhunting, I have shot a coupmound a bunch, just never hunted with one.

That question will get a lot of different answers. The most common thoughts seem to be that the smaller profile bheads work better in xbows. Also, seems to show up more on the faster stuff, all I know is once I tried the Slicks I quit fooling w/ bheads.
I'm shooting around 290-300 fps and have brass insert, so for me the 100 gr give me enough FOC [bout 19%] The only diff in the 100's and 125's is the ferrule is heavier, both take same blades. One example of my fondness is last fall I shot a doe at 30-35 yds and my Slick buried in a pine tree all the way to the insert 25 yds past the deer. Small pine, so I cut a chunk out and chipped the bhead out. It was still pristine and sharp enough to shave. Too bad I dinged a blade on last whack w/ hatchet, lol.
That Yukon has been around forever under one name or another. Send a pm to Hotburn, he's our resident Horton guru, tell him I said he's needed and to get his azz over here, lol.
I'd say it's a 25 yd bow, but am sure someone[s] will disagree. Also, you need to stay above minimum weight on your arrows to avoid a partial dry fire affect. I don't know what that is for that bow, but would guess around 425 gr.
