A well tuned bow and a wellplaced shot will take a deer down weather it be 200fps or 350fps....Fit and compfert are the two most imporant things then trigger(witch can be made better).

I was inclined to go with the slower bow...until I got the 350 fps one. Zerod at 25 it dorps exactly 7" at 42 yards.
I amy not shoot that far but I know that I can.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I try to limit my shots to 35 yards and under. I'm not comfortable shooting past 40 yards at all, in fact, 40 in my opinion is pushing it. 30 yards and under is my preferred shot. I did shoot both boths and the 10 point felt better.

My old Horton Supermag 150 was around 260 I think and I killed alot of deer with that CB. All passed through except for the first and hopefully last spine shot that I did. You will be fine with 280, just have to maybe use better hold over judgment for 30 yards, but practice will fix that with no problem.

IMHO, it depends on the situation. One of my favorite crossbows is intentionally slowed down to 248 fps by using heavy arrows so I can have fun "stump" shooting (pine cones and leaves) and it is plenty capable of taking a deer at normal crossbow ranges. When I'm sitting out on a soybean field in October I will have my Desert Stryker up the tree with me. In this situation, speed (trajectory and KE)is important. In general I don't mind losing 15 to 25 fps on a particular crossbow to gain consistent accuracy or to increase smootheness.

I would advise you to shoot them both through the chronograph there at the shop and you may be in for a rude awakening. Use a 420 grain carbon and I bet you'll get an advertising lesson. The Titan wil be very close to 280.

Another option if you dont mind spending a bit more is to go with the Profusion. 305fps and a better trigger and it comes with more stuff. More money, but IMO, a better bow. I sell more profusions than I do TL7's
