Default RE: Crossbow shooting questions

ORIGINAL: CarpetBagger

Thanks for the info guys....i followed the horton tape we got with the crossbow. It instructed that you need to 0 in the thing at 20yrds. No problems there. From that it said at 30 yrds you move that dial up one click. 40yrds 2 clicks...Kinda weird how they say 2 clicks out to 40 but there are many more settings after 2 on that dial.....

I might look into gettin him a better scope for this thing. And yes you were all correct we were shooting off hand.
here we go.
i assume that red dot is same as vari-zone on setting?
set your dial a range at no.2 position.
then you sight in at 20YDS.
then you use no.3 position andSHOOT AT 30YDS.
all sighting in is done on no.2 at 20YDS.

i first sighted mine in at 10yds on the no.1 position.

you should never use ZERO position on dial UNLESS you are going to screw the dial-=a-range down so it dont move at all.

then you put the dial on no.0,place screw in side to lock it then use a VARI-ZONE SCOPE that has yds from 20/50.

i hope this helps.

check that you are on no.3 at 30 yds after you cock the bow, next,SQUEEZE AND WATCH ARROW HIT BULLSEYE.

its hard with doT scopeat 30 yds to not move,i think crosshairs are more accurate to HOLD ON BULLSEYE AT 30 YDS.

of all reasons i was off bullseye at 30 YDS , main one was i was NOT SQUEEEZING TRIGGER AND NOT WATCHING ARROW FLY TO TARGET IN SCOPE.

moving just a little will cause this.

there are many more qualified on this more than me on here, only giving you some things to try that i had happen to me.take care......
