I don't aim for the scapula but stuff happens and if I am off of my mark I do not want to lose an animal, or cause unnecessary suffering.

I had my heart all set on using those too, then I got into this high end FOC idea and decided to go with the shorter, heavier broadheads, basically slick tricks, now I find out that they arent the whole answer either...
I'm getting entirely too caught up in splitting hairs as far as what I want to do for building some arrows, the slick trick defect is a given now though, and something that will probably turn my decision unless its addressed, spitfires are getting bought and tested though, along with nirtons
so I guess we'll see...
thanks for your input, and the heads up...

I don't pay much attention to samples of one. The broadhead did what it was supposed to do: killed the deer...... within sight of the hunter. How is that a failure? Slicks work great for me. I'm shooting one that has been through 2 deer...so far. And if I happen to get a "failure" on the third, I'll replace the blades. At least it CAN be done with a slick.

RE: NAP nitron vs. slick tricks?
kls, at our sportsman club the broadhead that is used the most is the SPITFIRE 100 andNITRON 125.
recurve guys use a lot of ZWEICKYS.
my favorite is the SPITFIRE 100 with practice blades for shooting in yard.
but for open point, i like NITRON 125..
i have not seen a slick trick yet but they are fairly new..
those RAGE ones are selling fast too but of all points, the ones i hear everyone likes is those 2,spit/nitron
