Dan Hendricks & Ike Issacson - Eastern Outdoor Sports Show
Had an opportunity to spend some time this morning talking with Dan Hendricks and Ike Issacson at the American Crossbow Federation Booth at the Eastern Outdoor Sports Show here in Harrisburg, PA. The show is billed as the largest outdoor show on the East Coast and claims 10 square miles of booths, etc. Feeling my throbbing feet, I believe it.
But back to Dan and Ike. These guys are the real deal and we're lucky to have them fighting for the rights of crossbow hunters everywhere. They had a petition for expanding crossbow hunters rights and were having great success in getting signatures. If you're planning to go to the show (runs through Sat.) make sure you stop by and sign the petition and say hello. I spent an enjoyable half hour or so talking with Dan about hunting in general, hunting in PA, and crossbow hunting. He is very interested in finding out as much as possible about the problems faced by crossbow hunters here in PA and what we think the solutions to those problems might be.
If you're not in the area and plan on attending another show where the ACF will be, don't be shy, step right up and introduce yourself. Like I said before, these guys are the real deal and after a half hour talking with Dan I can tell you he's the kind of guy I'd go hunting with anyday.
