RE: best crossbow for 15 yr old under a budget?
I myself use a PSE Viper Rattler crossbow with very good results. I am using 20" carbon bolts and get them spit out at about 275-285 fps perfects for hunting. I bought it new for 365$ plus tax at academy. If it matters it is a 165# compound

I have an interest in the PSE rattler too, theres just something about it that I like, and I may pick one up in the future just to check it out(maybe a bowfishing rig if nothing else), its kind of hard to really find anyone who owns one to get anyinfo on it though, but what I have heard has all been good...
if your interested in it I know I've seen the rattler package here and there for under $300 and a quick online search came up with this... http://www.outdoorsuperstore.com/product.asp?prod=532060
it may be found cheaper, but thats as far as I looked... but even still, thats rivaling hortons price for their summit CB, my brother has a summit and theres absolutely nothing wrong withthatCB either, but I've never even seen a rattler in person so I dont know which would be the better deal...
I've seen "bow only" vixens aroundfor under $300 too, ebay usually has some good deals...

Here is another Pse crossbow. It is basically thelittle brother of the viper it is the Copperhead crossbow. 150# draw weight velocity up to 265 fps and can be found for 150 and mabe lower. It dosent come with a scope or red dot sight tho.
