END OF ROPE / BEAR TROUBLES
I'm just about to the end of my rope !!! For years, we have had just very few Black Bear in our area, but, in the last three or four years, they have just about taken over. Just in the last two weeks, they have destroyedseven auto-matic deer feeders, a total waste, and each having about 250-300 lbs of corn just busted out and all over the ground. Now, down here in Louisiana, the black bear is on the endangered species list. Endangered, BULL-CRAP >>> They are all over us like coons.I have Cuddeback cameras all over the plantation & farm land. And ever time you check the cameras, well, there they are. I have tried to discuss this with the La. Wildlife & Fisheries, and only thing said was, cannot do anything about it, and better not even harras the bear.
Does anybody out there know of anything that can be used to detour or run the bear off, WITHOUT screwing up the deerand deer hunting>>>> Any answers will be greatly appreciated >>>>

Twoguns I had my feeder torn down 3 times and the last time you posted about bear troubles I posted my fix it solution and my feeder has been up now for 5 years, a piece of 8 foot roofing tin and a few nails are a lot cheaper than replacing feeders. Use a tree that can't be accesed by another tree, I had to cut a few that were close to mine.

RE: END OF ROPE / BEAR TROUBLES
we have just had to learn to live with them here in va. i live 1 mile from the shenandoah national park, with no hunting on the park the bears have been over populated for years. i just happen to live in one of the heaviest populated area's along the park. they come in the spring a tear up everything, birdfeeders, trashcans. in the fall they flatten crops. in the past the game commision has trapped them and relocated them, but they just come back in a few weeks. they will give out tags to farmers to kill a few before hunting season. they started a ML hunting season a few yrs ago ,this has helped. there are still lots of bears killed by people that just get tired of it,but its like a 10,000 fine if they catch you. in a protected area you may have a hard time stopping them.
