Hopefully tomorrow is the day.
I got 1200 acres basically to myself and buddy for archery season. But he has to work Saturday, so I will be here as the lone hunter.
Ihave7 stands to hunt from and just got some info last night on where big daddy hangs out in the evening. Just happens to have a stand within 50 yards of where he has been seen each evening. Buddy hasseen few does being chased this week so it looks like the prerut is about here. I figure that the rut will be starting to gethot and heavy within the following week around Halloween.
I was going to put out some golden estrus tomorrow afternoon but was curious if I should do any bleat calling to bring him in or wait to I get him in sight then give out a few calls.
My last 6 hunts has only given me a sore butt and the joy of watching squirrels.

RE: Hopefully tomorrow is the day.
I will be in King William County not to far from the border of Caroline County.
Opening morning I had 2 does walk out 20 yard from me. Still to dark to shoot. 5 more minutes and they would have been mine.. 2nd morning I had a brown streak run 10 yards or so behind me but moving to fast for me to get a good look other than seeing it was a deer. 6 times after that and nothing, unless you count squirrels and a groundhog..
