Default To many acorns!!

I have never seen as many acorns as I am seeing this year. They seem to be thicker than hunters on public land.I mean the Red, Black, and White are just raining nuts. I think the deer may have one up on me this year as they can munch anywhere they want and sure will be tough to pattern. What kind of mast year are you guys having??

We had a very late freeze here in AR [noth central] for three days the oaks not only lost their buds they lost every leaf to it amazes me we have any white oaks bearing at all the red and black oaks only bear every two years so the ones that should bear this year[most of them] will; but the deer are chewing my food plot right down to the ground so we expect to thin them out a bit. My three boys and myself just fillled two 5 gallon buckets in a 30 minute time frame prior to supper. We didn't even scratch the surface of what's in our yard. By this time next week I have no doubt I will have more than enough to keep my food plots stocked for the year. I've been stocking up on corn and have all I need of that food source.

We have the same thing in Tennessee. We had a really bad Freeze Easter weekend and it killed everything. I had never seen black leaves on trees before but it killed all the leaves and buds on all the hardwoods. Plus my garden..............

This year there aren't so many in my area...last year there were so many that it was downright dangerous sitting in some areas for the acorns raining down on you. The deer were a little bit harder to pattern last year with all the nuts.

Tons of acorns everywhere I go as well. I think that there are even more than last year. There are places I feel like I am walking on marbles.
