My guess is one of those barnetts!

Actually, there's more to the story. Had ordered the fastest, cheapest xbow Cabelas sold one day, learned about Excals the next day, called Cabelas back and stretched the Visa some more, UPS dropped them off both the same day. Tried the Emax first, never even opened the package w/ Q400 until a buddy bought it a month later. Here I was, killing house flies at 20 yds w/ Emax and there he was, couldn't get 3 in tennis ball at 20 yds. Glad I blew the pos up, he's still my friend, lol. Cabelas has a very liberal return policy, lol.

lol, 1st timei dry fired my Emax, it took me 3 days to find the string!! I was shooting it off bags in my shop to boot! Finally came to the conclusion it just disintegrated the string, then a few days later found it all balled up on a shelf about 10' from the bow. That one was a freebie, so were the next 3 or 4. The last one cost me some shipping to Danny.

What CB was that? It was a split limb set up so was it a Ten Point or a Stryker?

It was a Barnett. Looked to be an early Revolution judging by the limbs and stock set up.

I agree it's a lethal weapon but dryfiring an Xbow really just endangers the bow and possibly the shooter. The biggest damage is to your moral. Most guys admit to a brain fart or a dry fire but such is life. For those without faults or weaknesses I salute you. For the rest of us just wipe away your tears and move on.
Dry fire a rifle.. so what. if your compound gets dry fired it's cause someone else picked it up. Xbows really lend themselves to being dryfired at one point or another.
I guess that is why I always touch the arrow one last time before every shot.
