It wasn't hitting high..it was hitting low. It only hit high after I had adjusted the scope. When I was shooting bolts with both types of points. It is hitting right on target now, bullseye. 20,30,40 yards. Perfect! No drop! I threw the points I got at Walmart right in the garbage where they belong! Junk, no good, nada. I have 2 pks of Spitfires and practice blades for 3. I'll just use those from here on out or get some more decent fieldtips from the bowshop and NOT walmart.
Nothing left to ponder on the points. (unless somethingnew comes up)I'm waiting for season to open. 29-30 days now. Something like that. Just need to keep practicing everyday.

Thats the way to do it, practice. Well i must have been asleep when you said those pts. came from wally world and it was that Allen china crap. Not to much i buy there because almost every thing they have comes from china. I don't support a communist country!

Yea, I learned something there. I knew that Allen stuff was cheap as hell and mostly junk because they have mechanical bh's for like $8.99 for 3. I read where they don't even work half the time. I just figured that with a field point it wouldn't matter much. (That's what I get for figuring!) I don't buy much there either cept the cheap Remington and Winchester shotgun game loads for rabbit hunting. And sometimes groceries. I did get my carbon boltsthrough their website though. At least they aremade in the USA. Lesson learned......!

I buy ammo, cleaning supplies, and motor oil from Wal-mart. Wife does some grocery shopping there, but mostly goes to one of the 3Food Lions in the area for that.

I normally go there at about 7am to avoid other people, and get what I need and getout. Now you send me to Dicks Sporting Goods orsome of the local shops and will loose track of time looking at all the goodies..

lol... same here... Sometimes I when we go out of town me and dad ride together. Whenever I get into Gander Mountain (Ft. Wane,IN store)I can hardly leave. On alot of their stuff they are expensive. But I found some fair prices on carbon bolts, Triple 7, and that American Hunter or whatever that powder is called. It's supposed to be really good, and it's only 15.99 / lb. They had the exact same CB pkg.I have in there for $125 more than what I paid. Some things are expensive, some are reasonable. I guess you get that with most "bigger" stores. I'll tell you what, they have ALOT of guns. Unbelieveable selection.

I have a Bass Pro Shop and a Gander Mountain being built about 30 minutes or so away from me. I have only been to one Gander Mountain (Salisbury Maryland) while Seika Deer hunting on the eastern shore last yr. Very nice store and lots to look at. One of the guys that worked there was a Pro Staff member for Quaker Boy calls. I know we talked to him for 30 minutes just about bow hunting.

I know my wife will hide the checkbook and credit cards when they open the doors.

Now if they would only build a Cabela's at least within the state ..

All I asked for was a dozen 100gr. field tips bullet style. Well the clown gave me two kinds of tips in three different weights. Some of those bow monkeys are not the sharpest arrow in the quiver. All they really need is a little bit more knowledge than the averagecustomer and they sound like geniuses

RE: 5"drop at 30yrds.
I have arrows that weigh from 380 gr to 446 gr and outta both of my Excals, the diff in poi at 30 yds would put them all in a silver dollar size group.I seriously doubt that the weight variance in your field tips would result in a 5" difference at 30 yds if they were indeed 25 gr different. Not trying to rain on your parade, but personally I think either you weren't shooting off of bags or there is something else coming into play here. FWIW.
