Another advantage of being high in a tree! I noticed when I went from my 15' ladder to the 22' one my mosquito problem is about zero. Seen on a discovery channel show once that was talking about homes down south as to why they always had second story porches and it was because of bugs they said people learned a long time ago most insects stay close to the ground. Early season and high in stand I have very few get to me. I have also heard alot of people like Tom that like the ThermaCell, but I have not used it yet.

GrumpyTom said it ~~~~ THERMACELL

Been using them since they came oiut a few years ago, and now, could not hunt without them. Down here in Louisiana, the skeeters are so bad
they will make you go crazy. But now, ThermaCELL in the stand, don't do nothing but kill deer. At first, I had my doubts about maybe the deer might smell it, but once you use it, and have as many as 7-11 deer under your stand, you know for a fact, it doesn't bother them a bit >..!!!!!!!!

I've been looking at those thermacells too, I've never used one but I've been told they work pretty good and everyone seems to have a pretty high opinionabout them, they're pretty cheap too
I've been on the verge of picking one up but havent because I've been leary of it being just another gimmick, but I think I'm going to give one a try
I hopethey would workgood for camping too, around here themosquitoswill eat you alive sitting outside in spring, summer andearly fall,it takes all the enjoyment out of it and its harder than it seems to find something that actually works to repel them

They are not a gimmic, far from it. I had mine brought over from the USA because at the time they were not available here in Ontario. I use mine in the swamps deer hunting, turkey hunting, sitting around fires while camping. The biggest thing is that you will never know how good they are working, unless you shut if off when in use then you will be attacked by those nasties. BTW, it will also repel black flies.
