Venison is good year round, imho. Back in Illinois, I happened on a fresh road kill [broken neck, one hoof] in 85 degree weather, police hadn't arrived yet, once I was sure the lady it hit was ok,had it home and processed in 45 minutes. Yummmm! Best part was a State truck w/ 4 guys drove up and I thought uh-oh here goes my freebie, but they just wanted to help me load it!!

Let's make a sporting endeavor out of baiting. Anyone for deer hunting with a hammer? [8D]

One year when hunting in Wyoming I was chatting with some GOBs that were hunting. We eventully got onto a story about their first days hunting after serving in the war. Well these guys would try to keep up to and beside some Antelope and whack them with a hatchet! What a bunch of loonies! Now I say that not because of the animals that would and apparently did die instantly, albeit in a visually grusome manner but these guys were on an old willis jeep! Can you imagine falling off and into the sage and cactus at 50 miles per hour????
