Horton question?
The bow shop just got some easton realtree power boltsand some ten point gold tip bolts. I have a horton RealTree HD175 crossbow. Can I shot any of these the bolts out of my xbow? and which is better?I have 20" easton lighting stike alum. (2219) now.

RE: Horton question?
I'm pretty sure your Horton takes half moon nocks and has a minimum weight that I'm not familiar w/, but the 10 pts will take 420 gr arrows, so would guess yours is close to that. I read of guys that shoot flat nocks in half nock bows some. I had a Quad 400 blow up due to probably either too light an arrow or using a flat nock vs half moon. Once was enough for me. Hotburn is an old Horton guy, lol, he'll probably chime in sooner or later.

RE: Horton question?
The ten point bolts do have flat nocks, but I was going to get them to change them to half moons if I go with the gold tips. I was confused about the weight on the power bolts. The bow shop guy said it was just about the same as my 2219 but on the bolt it has 11.3 gr. per inch. That would be only 326 with 100 grain head. That might be too light?

RE: Horton question?
Well I just went shoot the easton carbon power bolt and I was not impressed with it. At 15 yards it was fine, at 30 yards it dropped like a rock and would not stay on center. Ialso tried a horton carbon with 2" blazer vanes and it shot just like my LS alum. 2219about 1/2 inch differenceat 30 yards. I will go and geta ten point G.T. bolt and see how my xbow like it. I hope it does good if not I will have to order some hortons.
