Broadheads for turkeys
What broadheads do you guys use for turkeys?
I've taken 2 with regular fixed blade heads and I know the old addage
"A well placed broadhead will do the job." BUT..................................
What about those marginal hits? A turkey only has so big of a vital zone.
Anyone tried a Rage broadhead in their xbow?

Mind you i have never shot a turkey with a CB. B'Heads used on any game will work. Maybe one of the larger dia. mechanical one's would be better. Rocket makes some good ones.

The bigger the better on birds. Can tell ya from experience that those little Zwickie Grappler's behind your broadhead will stop a complete pass- thru keeping the arrow in the bird and stopping him from flying over the fence...Awshucks still owe ya a few of them.. Now that bone in my foot has healed can get to shooting and ready for deer seasonBill

Where do you shoot a turkey with a bow. I saw a video of a broadhead or something called a gillatean (not sure how to spell that one). The thing cut the turkeys head completely off. It was pretty amazing to see.

Head on shot, thru the chest(center just miss the beard). Broad side, Where the wing meets the body. Full strut faceing away from ya, Texas heart shot, right below the tail fan, you get the idea. Again those grapplers stop a pass thru and increse the chance of recovery by keeping the bird on the ground. This is all IMO...Bill

Rocket Slammerheads work well for me. Watch this one in action. Bird down and out in record time.
