Sqkilla: Two questions: what kind of jelly, and why don't you move the crosshairs on the squirrel in your avatar to the head; you're ruining both front shoulders w/ that shot.

ORIGINAL: Pydpiper
And how is the 10/22? I am thinking of one for myself.. Sure is lots of options out there for that gun!

Thomas, save your money and get a 17 HMR. Pydpiper cleanly dropped a fox at 100 yards with mine! It was like someone hit the light switch. It was all over instantly!
I swapped the Savage for this Sako Quad.

My cousin has the double 10/22 setup and it was crazy!! we never shot at anything but basketballs but it sure did tear them up!!
I already spent my money on the 10/22! I decided to go with it because i hear the .17 is really bad in the wind

RE: It's getting quiet in here
squkilla: neither are wind buckers, but a 17 hmr will drift less in an equal crosswind than a .22 lr. one reason is it's twice as fast so there is less time in flight for the wind to affect it. A 22 lr will drift about 1" per mile per hour wind at 90 degrees at 100 yds.

That was the main reason I went with the 204 instead of the 17. A few guys at work have the 17 and both say that any cross wind will throw it off on shots over 75 yards. The 204 comes out at over 4000fps and has a 0 @ 200 yards and is only -4 @ 300 yards. A great shooting gun. The ammo is alot cheaper for a 17 though. Had to buy a reloading setup to save money on ammo and have not put the time needed into finding the right load, only getting 3/4" groups @ 100 yards.
