ORIGINAL: Pydpiper
It's amazing how many people own or have owned one of these, and everyone speaks highly of them.. Phew..
I added a scope (with some help from DNK) to both barrels, red dot for my turkey scope and optical one for my rifled.
I believe the camo pattern also doubles as turkey deterrent, It's got to be something, and it just can't be me..

RE: Bought my first gun today!
good looking gun the 870 is the most bought gun in the U.S. I also bought one this year before turkey season. The one I bought was the 870 max gobber. I hope you seen it it looks allsome it has a tacticle stock it's there new modle. I'm a small guy an 3.5 in. shells pack a good punch, the reason I bought it because the way the recoil works it has springs in the stock that let's the stock recoil back into the recever, plus you can move the stock whatever lenth you desire. I use mine to turkey hunt, but I'm going to get a rifle barrel. I have a payed hunt in Ill. the last week in Nov. I've been there on a bow hunt but never a gun hunt, seen some real nise mosters there but could,nt get on them during bow. So I thought I would try gun. I'm wateing on them to bring out the camo that my gun has before I buy the rifle barrel. I better hush now, you will really injoy your 870 I have no doubt take care piper,an GOOD LUCK..............

You can get a nice combo, for about $450, I paid more than twice that for the camo..
The scopes are cheapies, real cheapies.. Red dot is worth about $80 in camo, $50 in black.. The one on the rifled barrel was $109, I kinda regret that one, wish I bought better, works fine though.
I highly recommend the 870 for a shotgun, it gets awesome reviews!
*edit* I didn't pay more than twice that for the camo 870.. but close, had to do some early morning math...
