RE: FIRST JAKE OF THE YEAR
Ok,I will tell you about the hunt in short term. The weather was bad and the birds were quite, more less I had to hunt them out like you would a deer. I put out pretty boy and girl decoys. For some reason it scared the birds, when they went off scared we had to sneak around the woods going below the field. We played cat and mouse for just over an hour, I couldn't get to the big Tom he was with a hen, the only chose I had was to try to bring the jakes to us. There were 4 of them. My buddy and I done a 123 count on them and killed 2 birds. It was very exciting and certainly worth getting wet to call the birds in and harvest them. There is a felling that you get when you call a bird to youthat is different thanwhen hunting for deer. As you know deer do not always come when you call.
Don & friends I hope you enjoy what little I have wrote about my hunt.
Wishing everyone for a great experience as I have had.
