The return of Sproulie!! I was starting to miss you, got worried we scared you off. Heck no! Not good Ole' Sproulman.
Give us some more truth old wise one.. Sounds to me like a bunch of compound shooters may have taken advantage of you that day at the range and left us to clean up the mess.. After listening to the way you talk and the lack of thought you project I can see why a room full of guys would want you right back out again.
no, i am still here, just busy out making deer count..i am hated for that also because i believe doe season should be closed here in pa. in wmu2g..

compound shooters are not bad folks, they just hate CROSSBOW HUNTERS..thats all..

why would you want me to leave when you can hear TRUTHof why crossbows are not legal,YET in pa. for all..

scared off,no,only time i was really scaredwas when a 300 pd bear decided to climb the same apple tree i was in while hunting archery 42 years ago..man, i jumped to ground and he fell on top of me,boy, was that something..did he stink, i bet i took 3 baths that night to try to get smell off me..

................................
Compound shooters are not bad folks ............ your correct, I do not have a problem with compound shooters ....... not all of them are selfish or discriminatory. I only have a problem with those that discriminate and the selfish ones.

Your right, you do a very good job at getting the truth across on why some vertical compound users do not want crossbows ............ They are selfish and discriminatory and do not want anything to possibly interfere with thier hunting. that they want the public woods all to themself at what ever costs to seniors, disabled, slight bodied, and the youth. Just stop them from hunting so they can be in the woods without anyone else .......... you know .....the I WANT IT ALL FOR MYSEF SYNDROM.

Yes, you tell the truth .. just too bad you do not see what you are telling.

sproul, I do not hate you, I actually find your determination quite fascinating, almost admirable. You come here all on your own and demand that you are telling the truth, you accept no alternative opinions and carry on like there is someone out here going "yeah, maybe the paranoid hypocrite is actually right..".
The only part I don't like is how you keep insisting compound bow hunters "HATE" (you always capitalize that word when you use it) crossbow hunters.. Saturday morning I went out with a compound hunter and I had my Excal.. There was no fighting, no hatred, so, 100% of the compound hunters I have met are not only OK with the sport but never batted an eye. That is the opposite of what you are reporting..
So am I to understand you have been an vertical bow hunter for years, then tried a crossbow, which turned out to be an obvious negative in your life, then went back to vertical?

gtom, would you rather i LIED to you, said everything is fine, that only sproul thinks this way and other archery hunters dont know what crossbow is ,thats reason they are ignorant as was said..

what i am saying is way people feel..dont kid yourself, they know what crossbow is,THATS why fear is bigtime now..

if crossbow was not so deadly, then the compound bowhunters would not be concerned..they know that puts more hunters in woods in their BELOVED season..

they are trying to protect the only season that THEY feel they have a good chance of getting a buck..

i said before, this was first year i ever saw hunters in archery DRIVING deer with CROSSBOWS..

the archery hunters were pissed, sitting in their trees and along comes a crew of crossbow hunters, disturbed everything, ruined their evening..

this is just 1 example..

do to lack of deerr, i see things like this happening..

if crossbows are made legal in pa.then this will all be a thing of past, most of those hunters WILL change to crossbow..

ole fossil sproulie will still be using his bear kodiack recuve, cedar arrows, feathers, bear points until i am 90 ,then will bring out my CROSSBOW..

,.....................
That is the point sproulman ........... the vertical compound is more accurate then the crossbow when in the hands of equally quality shooters .............. PLAIN & SIMPLE !!!!!!!!!!!

You and many other THINK they know what a crossbow is .......... heck most think that the garbage which is spread by the anti's to install all of that fear is the gospel truth. I have had guys tell me that a crossbow can shoot 100 yards flat ............ heck a 308 cal rifle will not even do that.

Like I said many times before ............ if you want to seperate the crossbow from the vertical recurve and longbow, I have no problem with that, BUT include the vertical compound with the crossbow in that season. That would be one season for the crossbow/compound and one for the recurve & longbow.

Your arguements only tells people that your selfish and willing to discriminate against people just to keep the PUBLIC HUNTING GROUND for their private use.

You want to know what is reallly the sad part of this is ................ Your proud of that fact.

Driving deer with crossbows.....hmmmmmmmm....Then I should ofassumed the guys that were walking by my stand carring compounds were driving deer with thier compounds, acouple yrs ago I had a few trad shooters walk buy me too.....must of been driving deer with thier trad bows too......Hmmmmmmm or maybe they were walking out to stands or just walking........hmmmmmmm........

sproulman....this in reply to what you typed...not you...Just so YOU know I have shot compound for 23 yrs and trad afew times in there,I was planning on going 100% TRAD nxt yr(spent over 1600.00 on trad last yr)but Neck problems changed it so now I will be shooting a Crossbow for my 1st time(another 800.00).....Ive never Had a issue with crossbows in all my yrs so I find it interesting on how so many realy hate them and yes I do know afew people that do but wont say it to your face unless someone else starts it................. and as far as being EASY I think you have it wrong there,I would rather carry my recurve, longbow or yes compond into the woods and into a treestand then a crossbow, the weight alone will wind ya carrying a crossbow in.I havnt even carried my Profusion 100 yrds and Iam looking at buying a sling for it if they make one.......as far as being like a gun dont know havent shot a deer with agun in well 24 yrs...have taken a few with BP under 25yrds and with pistol still under 30 yrds but nothing with a rifle and over 30 yrds....and Iam betting My shots with the crossbow will be around the 20 yrd area or under.....

and yes Iam selfcenterd....the Earth DOES revolve around me........Not really...just wanted to say that..............

If a group was trying to do a drive with crossbows, then they were indeed fools.
An 8 lb plus crossbow is not the bow to be carrying busting brushandtrying to hit a probable moving target with a quick, off hand shot.
They would be idiots with any weapon.

Sproulie, this is the first post you have made in this thread without putting at least on word in capitols.. Not only that but is was somewhat of a neutral post. There just may be hope for you after all.
