The point is there is no real advantage to a crossbow except it helps more people to get in the woods. It should be legal in all states for anyone that wishes to use one.

Can some one tell me who made the quote about how it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt?
awshucks I do not know who made that quote, but I think I could point you in a direction to show you what the quote was talking about

This thread was was started to to get people thinking about how rules in some States and Provinces do DISCRIMINATE against some people . It also showed that there is still ignorance and discrimination put forth from some people as well. The only way this will stop is for these people to either grow up or become true humans and treat everyone as an equal, but can or should we expect our governments to actually act responsibly.
grumpytom, its not IGNORANCE from some people, its a lot of hunters..lets all face TRUTH,even if it makes someone mad..

compound archery hunters HATE crossbow user..why, because you have chance to kill a buck that they had ADVANTAGE..it takes a hell of a lot more practice and skill and strong arms and good sense of feel and distance etc..to kill a buck with compound than a crossbow..

this puts more hunters after the buck they had to themselves ..

i was at range, 25 compound shooters there..i walked in with my CROSSBOW,you could here a pin hit the floor..i said, HEY FOLKS, WHATS HAPPENING..1 guy had chewing tobacco in his mouth, he looked like he was going to spit it in my eye..

others said, why dont those old turds,i did not know i was old yet, stay home..other said, oh, he probably one of those DISABLED faking it to get crossbow permit..

as soon as i got ready to shoot, all kinds of nasty little rules came..oh, wait for us, dont move, does that thing richocet, thats not bow, its a gun..

in other words, they did not want me there..these are also members of the BIGGEST archery clubs in state, bowhunters of pa.or BPA..

how are you going to change them,YOUR NOT!!only way is if crossbows become legal ,then the compound shooters will change to crossbows ,just like they did with recurve bows..

until then, dont expect any RESPECT from archery hunters..i still feel best way is to allow archery hunters to have their oct/nov season, give crossbow hunters gun season, and late archery..no hunters but crossbow hunters can hunt in those seasons..

that would make me happy as i will not have all these ROOKIES running around disturbing my hunting in archery..i dont want more hunters ,i want quiet,no hunters,no noise and chance at getting a nice buck..

now, you heard truth, some will say,SPROUL KEEP YOU MOUTH SHUT..YOUR IGNORANT.. no, sproul is telling TRUTH ..

SPROUL HAS SPOKEN!!

Hey sproulman, next time you go to the range and someone says anything, tell them that it's a Kings Weapon and you're a King, "SO Kiss My Royal Hindness".

it takes a hell of a lot more practice and skill and strong arms and good sense of feel and distance etc..to kill a buck with compound than a crossbow..
And it takes probably ten times more of these things to become proficient with traditional equipment. By your reasoning, if the difference between a compound and crossbow (debatable) should keep the crossbow out, then common sense screams you would support the moving of the compound out of bow season as well.

2 seasons - ALL gun in gun - ALL bow in bow.

I guess you're not reading all the post's here! There is an advantage to those in the senior groups and having physicalproblems as many on this forum do!

It should be legal in all states for anyone that wishes to use one
.

Agree 100%!

...............
sproulman you say that above and then you says things that totally prove my point that it is nothing but ignorance and discrimination in opinions on crossbows.
others said, why dont those old turds,i did not know i was old yet, stay home..other said, oh, he probably one of those DISABLED faking it to get crossbow permit..
Just becasue you are shooting a crossbow you must be either old or disabled ....... that is nothing but a discriminatory thinking.
as soon as i got ready to shoot, all kinds of nasty little rules came..oh, wait for us, dont move, does that thing richocet, thats not bow, its a gun..
That is just plain IGNORANCE and not knowing anything about crossbows
in other words, they did not want me there..these are also members of the BIGGEST archery clubs in state, bowhunters of pa.or BPA..
Again that is nothing but being discriminated against if the only reason they do not want you there is just becasue you have a crossbow ....... unless it was you and not the crossbows that they did not want there.
how are you going to change them,YOUR NOT!!only way is if crossbows become legal ,then the compound shooters will change to crossbows ,just like they did with recurve bows..
A BIGOT is a BIGOT, a person that dicriminates will always discriiminate but there are people that lead and others that follow. There are alot more followers then leaders and if these followers were to learn the truth and see the light, they will stop basjing crossbows and embrace them. That has been proven in may other States in the USA.
until then, dont expect any RESPECT from archery hunters..i still feel best way is to allow archery hunters to have their oct/nov season, give crossbow hunters gun season, and late archery..no hunters but crossbow hunters can hunt in those seasons..
I do not expect respect from bigots or discriminating fools becasue they do not like the fact that I believe all humans are equal and that it does not matter if they have a disability or just slilght in stature, they still have the right to hunt with archery equipment. With those type of people, if you do not agree with them, they believe your the enemy.
that would make me happy as i will not have all these ROOKIES running around disturbing my hunting in archery..i dont want more hunters ,i want quiet,no hunters,no noise and chance at getting a nice buck..
That is nothing but just plain GREED That is my bush and stay out of it ....... I always that it was PUBLIC land available to ALL PEOPLE.
now, you heard truth, some will say,SPROUL KEEP YOU MOUTH SHUT..YOUR IGNORANT.. no, sproul is telling TRUTH ..
The trouble is ........ Ignorance is believing that what you think is always the truth no matter what the facts tell. When you are not willing to look at facts and change your opinion when your wrong, then you are IGNORANT.

Then you say another statement that is totally incorrect:
it takes a hell of a lot more practice and skill and strong arms and good sense of feel and distance etc..to kill a buck with compound than a crossbow..
Good sense of feel and distance is the same no mater what bow you shoot. You still need to be able to judge distance and know the flight path of the arrow.

sproulman if you were argueing that crossbows give you excess advantages over vertical recurves and longbows, then I would agree, but your not. You are claiming thatthe crossbow give extreem advantages over the vertical compound which is totally not true. There are some advantages with the crossbows, but there aer some disadvantages as well.

If you want to limit the crossbow season, then include the compound in the same season as the crossbow and let the recurves and lonbows be on their own.

If you still want to continue to spill non truths as facts and continue to showour ignorance, then go for it becasue that is all that you are showing yourself as .........Ignorant & selfish

That was clear and to the point, GT. I'm not so eloquent.

Sproule, as usual your post was akin to 10 lbs of BS in a 5 lb bag.

The return of Sproulie!! I was starting to miss you, got worried we scared you off. Heck no! Not good Ole' Sproulman.
Give us some more truth old wise one.. Sounds to me like a bunch of compound shooters may have taken advantage of you that day at the range and left us to clean up the mess.. After listening to the way you talk and the lack of thought you project I can see why a room full of guys would want you right back out again.
