Hotburn: If you bring up Ohio, the first words outta their keyboards is the fact that xbow kills now exceed verts in archery season. There's apparently no way to tell how many are dual users, or converted vert hunters, or gun hunters that got into archery via xbow. They ignore the fact that the seasons and bag limits there as in Ar keep getting more liberal.

Ya I know, have heard it myself before! I think if all the states just allowed it the problems would go away! I think alot of the problems come from people being jealous that they have to use a vertical and can not have a simpler choice like a CB, the compound guys forget that they went through and did the same thing with the recurve guys. I think alot of guys out there are like me and would rather just hunt and not spend all summer in there back yard trying to keep up with the equipment. Then when they see people getting disabled permits and such, or people like us here in OH and AR, they just get jealous that they too can not have the easier method. When Ohio numbers exceeded the verts, I doubt it is all new CB users, alot of them were vertical guys that made the switch. I know of four at work that have done it and all have said time and ease of accuracy is why.

Keeping up with form and critical tuning of gear was always a pain. I dreaded each shot at a deer wondering what slipped or moved on the compound since the last shot. Now I don't have any excuse. Maybe that's why they don't like 'em - nothing to blame but the shooter and error in yardage.
