Isn't it only the Vixen that doesn't have that forward angled rail setup?
No it has it too.

the guys on the ExCal forum say that even the limb angle is the same on the different modles that the only difference between the different modles is the length of the rails..
which still does not change the fact that they are an excelent crossbow the best manufacrured recurve crossbow on the market..
and the fact that the parts are the same on the different modles is a big plus because if a proshop has say a riser or riser mounting bolt for an Exomax the is also has one for a Phoenix.. so all the parts from modle to modle is a plus a big plus..

Hope your right Dan! Cause if they are charging 150 bucks for a two inch chunk of aluminum then they just fell in the same boat as the rest of the makers!
No matter what the deal is w/ extra length rail for whatever price, I don't think they are in the same boat as the other mfgrs. Main reason is all Excals have the exact same GOOD trigger. They all have the same GOOD reputation for not needing warranty work. I personally don't care how they make their money, or how much they make in profit on every sale, as I have come to the conclusion that they don't do that at the end users [US] expense. I'm not sure what the differences in the models they offer are, just know you can't go wrong w/ anything they offer that you choose. You guys all know that the other major mfgrs have different triggers for their different price range bows. I, personally think that is wrong. When you can buy a Phoenix for $349 at bowhuntersuperstore, granted bare bow, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'd like to see something that will better that in accuracy, dependability, general user friendlyness, ect. Horton has a "Talon" trigger available on some models, but not all, !0 pt offers a trigger upgrade for, I believe $30 plus two shippings, yet Excal offers the same trigger on all. I don't care how they make their profit, actually would rather see them do it in rail length/riser angle than put cheap triggers on the bows. Just my $.002 worth.
I am not saying they are bad people or are a bad business and this will not keep me from wanting to buy there bows, its just rubs me wrong when people do it. I used to work at Whirlpool making dishwashers and there was only one frame and one tube, pump, heater ect... The only difference on the models was a different timer and a price range from 250 to 400 bucks. Some models even had the same timer it just was how we plugged the wires in on the back, and a different sticker! I always hated doing it and felt like I was helping them rip the end guy off. A guy could have two extra wash options if he switched two wires! I know Excal has a right to different models and how they make there money but if the only difference is a two inch chunk of metal that cost a buck at most then why jack the price up? Keep the prices the same. I think it would do wonders for them and then the only decision to be made would be the poundage and speed, and not what you want based on your wallet. Again, not saying they are bad people, or bad company, I will still want the bow, just rubs me a little, to each his own!

Jason:I didn't take your post that way at all and you are right, for the most part. I guess I didn't use the right words to make my point is all. that inch or two of rail is probably the only difference in the models and sure doesn't cost what the individual prices are. We all know all companies have to make a profit or they won'tbe around long. Maybe Excal does make theirs "by the inch" lol.Randy from 10 pt breought that up awhile back. My point is or was you get the same quality from the low end to the high end, same limbs and trigger. I'd rather have that than corners cut in quality to turn the needed profits. You better hurry up and get that Exocet before Stryker puts em belly up! lol. Pssst! Henry is looking to swap his Ecet for a Phoenix, don't tell anybody I told you. lol.

You used the right words bud. I just reposted cause I did not want people to htink that maybe I was bashing or trying to slam Excal. I like them and want the CB in time, just had to vent o a pet pea of mine. Not to worry about the Stryker, Thatbow needs to be out for a while before I would even consider it. I think there is going to be alot of unhappy people in about two months helping them work out the kinks!

Not to change the subject but it would be great if I could make an adjustable recoil pad which bolted onto the end. Then it would be "custom" yet still almost stock,ha ha.

auctually if I got the chance to trade my ExcCet for a Phoenix I would do it in a heartbeat, I wish now that I would have just waited for the proshop to get the new limbs in or another Phoenix instead of taking the Exocet, I can cock it using the rope cocker but I am streached to the limit doing so,, so to say, Im only 5`3, so it is truly a streach to cock it and just from my expierence of shooting both the ExoCet and the Phoenix I think the Phoenix is the smother shooter.. LOL!! Henry, I feel your pain! The Emax is only 25 lbs more than the Ecet.

Ok class, todays lesson; repeat after me: Vixen, Phoenix, Exocet, [pronounced Exo-say] Exomag, and last but certainly not least, Exomax.
Think the Emag was replaced by the Emax. This is all in good fun, of course. I once read a little ditty on Excals site, I think about all the mis-names their products have been called, it's a hoot if you can find it.
Ok Reb, I'm timing ya this time, lol.
