Bow strings
I have a Horton EXP 150 lb. draw weight. The string on the bow is 4 years old. The string looks to be in good shape. Was curious how often you should change strings. Do you lose much speed if string has stretched some? Bought some new broadheads and am wanting to sight bow in.Do you think I will be all right with the old string? Thanks

RE: Bow strings
A friend of mine bought a Horton Hunter in 1998. He just changed the string for the first time, this year. He didn`t have to adjust his sights at all.
I think you`ll be okay. It really depends on how the string looks. Is it frayed? If not, you should be fine.

RE: Bow strings
I think they recommend every four years on strings. But my old supermag went ten years before it got a new one. I had the serving wrapped a couple of times but that was it. It all depends on how you take care of the string. Is it kept waxed and such? As long as it looks good and not frayed you should be OK, But a little preventative maintenance never hurts.
