Missed a nice Doe on Friday, I cant believe I mad e such a stupid mistake.

The Doe walked into range and gave me a nice 24 yard shot, I adjusted my Dial a range from 10 to 20 yards aimed a touch high because of her distance and let her have it, only to watch the arrow go right over her back.

She spooked and ran outto about 70yardsand three times I called her back with my True talker but she never got where I could shoot at her again.

After she initially spooked I looked at my dial a range and it was onthree instead of two, evidently I had increased it twice. I always leave it on the one setting so that I know what yardage it is set for without looking, guess I should have looked.

I was going back on Sunday but ended up in the Emegency Room at 3AM Saturday night passing Blood and Razorblades...somewhere I got a really bad kidney infection. I am feeling better today andwill be back out soon though. So no worries.

Made a little meat today finally!! Was in my ground blind late this afternoon, no deer but 3 turkeys came strolling by. I switched my Slick for a judo point and knocked the biggest one in the head at about 20 yds.
The arrow and point took the top of its head off from the eye up, so it didn't do anything but flop alot. Got home and showed it to my buddy, went in the house to get washed up and make coffee, got back and he had cleaned it by breasting it out. Not my way, so by the time I retrieved the carcass outta the garbage and filleted all I could off of thighs and legs it wasn't too photogenic, lol. About a 12 lber w/ Phoenix. Maybe the curse is lifted, lol.

Dan, you've had a better hunting season than I have had. Last weekend I sat in a ground blind during a rainy day that turned into a storm. They were active the day before and shutdown on Saturday. Decided to shoot some geese and ducks to make myself feel better on Sunday. I felt better after some geese and ducks went down!

Good to hear ya score Dan! I have heard that wild turkeys all have dark meat and no white breast meat, is that true? What did you say to your buddy? I was out tonight and seen a doe way off in the distance right after I was in stand. Then seen my little six pointer again, but he must have danced with a car cause he was walking OK, but different and half of his rack was broke off right at the skull! Will try the morning hunt and try again. How many ducks and geese Don?

I saw nothing this morning but this afternoon was great! At 4:30 pm I saw what is going on my hope list. LOL. I hope I see this one broadside and standing still for two seconds more. A piebale. Misspelled I think. Just saw it for two seconds and moving fast along a buck trail just inside the tree line. Then about dark, 5 deer came in to feed in the corn field but too dark to see what sex they were. They penned me in my stand for another hour before they left and let me come down. Got down around 7o pm. Weather was too warm all afternoon also. Going back in at 5:30 am tomorrow, looking for the ghost one.

Yea, I am better, still have a little pain but no blood in urine. Doc prescribed some Antibiotics and some other such stuff, when I go it looks flourescent yellow, almost orange.

I got a big laugh from the thread of do you or dont you pee off your stand...I gotta weigh in on the side of I am not letting it go off the side of my stand, not with this stuff in my system thats for sure.
