Guys do what you want but if you square your arrows and inserts you don't have to fart around with that stuff. Mike, you have a PM.

Yup like u i do that but have used rubber o rings.
you can use rubber little rings also.i like the little black PLASTIC ones because you can tighten them down better than rubber.i had rubber rings come loose on me.you cant tighten the rubber rings down like you can thin plastic rings.if your point moves just a little with rubber rings, balance will be off and arrow will wobble.boy, how far we have come. in 1970 is was making my own cedar arrows, i still use them on my recurve.but mostly for practice as they are expensive to make and ones i have are 35 years old.also take wax and wax your threads on your broadheads. this keeps threads from being crushed if you hit tree or rock. take care.

Here's a link to The G5 ASD. Its cheap, works well and easy to. use.http://www.g5outdoors.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?productid=3
All you do is put the shaft in both V grooves and roll the shaft against the cutter head. Takes a couple of minutes per end. If you make your own arrows then you do the end of the shaft before installing the insert. Then you square the insert after installation. Make for a shaft thats a bit harder to break because is has full mating surfaces between the insert and shaft and the insert and the broadhead.
