What makes a good crossbow?

RE: What makes a good crossbow?
That was one of the most intresting posts I've read on the "crossbows" forum! I read every reply, but Rebel, your's took the cake! The only thing you forgot was casino trips, where they pay for your ride and give you a roll of quarters to gamble with!
Ther were alot of good replys though, but seriously, I think a good CB is one that someone can afford, can shoot well, is reliable and one that makes the user happy. Reguardless of how many of what ever species the hunter isafter, gets. It's all about having fun isn't it?
In my, case all of the above applyto my "Dorton" and I do kill alot of deer with it, so there! How was that?

Early In: You're getting the hang of this place fast!! Ain't nothing wrong w/ any xbow. They will all do what's needed to take deer. We just have fun about it all, dang, the lungs on a deer are like a paper plate at 20-30 yds!! Nobody has to be like Wm Tell to kill deer w/ an xbow!! I'm sensing a sense of humor in you, and am glad that you can contribute to our fun. I am very happy to be a part of this forum, and that's because it is a great place to be. We kid around alot and wind each other up from time to time, but it really pleases me to see how we all tend to take care of business when someone has a question or a problem that any of us have experience w/.

RE: What makes a good crossbow?
I just found out why some people never get a deer. Dad wanted to take this guy along on our hunt, we were seeing a lot of deer but he never seen one so I gave him my spot he still did not see any;next day I sneaked up on him,he was pacing up and down a 20 yd area smoking a cigarette. Now I told him before hand he would have to sit still and quiet to see any deer. I dont believe there is a cb made that will help his problem. on the other hand I know a fellow who hunted with a spear and got one just for fun so blaming the cb just wont get it. Lee
