Horton XL 175
I dont know a whole lot about cross bows but I have a question if anybody can help me. My Buddy has a Horton XL 175 crossbow he has to sell because he is moving. It was only used last hunting season. I looked at Hortons website and it seems they dont sell the XL 175 anymore? Do they still make it, is it a good crossbow, are there any problems with them? Any info would be great!!!

Well I shoot Two Hortons. A Legend 150 and a Hunter sl 175. I can say they are great bows and if you can get a good deal on it go for it. look at the limbs for cracks and such before you buy it. when you get it come back and ask more questions

Hello,
With out knowing what your friend wants for his bow I can tell you this. I bought mine brand new “Horton Explorer TR175 with a red dot scope, quiver and 4 bolts with field points” for $270.00 from the Sportsmans Guide Store on line.
Right now they are out of stock. I know this because my brother has been waiting for them to get another shipment. For that kind of money it’s a hard deal to beat.

The crossbow is a 2004 XL-175 with a Ultradot RED-DOT scope, carbon arrows, spitfire expanding broadheads,THE BLOCK archery target, and a storage case all included. He only used it last year. He wants $400. Please let me know if this is a good deal!!! I know he had 1 problem with the string and Horton replaced it. Something to do with a recall for that year and model.

codster: Can't help ya dollar wise, but do know that there are lots of happy Horton campers here, and they have been around for a long time. I also can tell ya they have a great service dept. and in all fairness, can't say I've heard anything bad about any companies service dept, kinda like they are in this with us.
Geen Pea: That sounds like one heck of a good deal!!

RE: Horton XL 175
THANKS GUYS for all the help and info. I guess I'll call my buddy tomorrow and tell him I'll take it. You can bet I'll be back on the greatest forum to ask more questions about the new purchase and give any feedback I can. I guess I will be a new HORTON owner. Wish me lots of LUCK!!!
