Sorry Henry. I hate thieves. The person who stole your cams isn't a hunter probably. A hunter generally respects other hunter's things. I would bet it's kids with nothing better to do and they think it's funny. When I was a kid, I was taught to not bother other people's things, so I didn't. But today we need to pray for our youngsters and hope they stop their evil ways before it's too late.
Again Henry, I'm very sorry.

Nothing funny about thieves, but here's a local story. There is a turkey hunting area near me open to the public, but some long time locals resent new hunters there and strange things have been known to happen to vehicles parked there. A fellow went hunting there opening day, but just sat in the bush eyeballing his truck. two guys came and just went hunting, but the third knealt down by tire and started letting the air out, at which point owner stepped out racking a pump shot gun. He took the guys drivers license and phone #and told him, "When I want to hunt here, I'll give you a call, you are going to come and watch over my truck or else" Score one for the good guys!!

I am sorry to hear that a theif got you Henry. I had to start all over myself last year. They broke in workshop/storage shed, took all my reloading gear and spotting scope, my Point Blank compound Bow, reloading powder. Lost over$4000 in hunting gear.[&o]

That's one of the reasons that if I ever get a trail camera, it's going to have just an infrared flash. Much less chance of anyone ever noticing it. Of course, if they do find it and steal it... I'll be out a lot more money!

If your game cams have "loops" on the back for a strap, you can take a piece of fairly thick sheet metal about a foot long, w/ two holes in the ends and chain lock it to the tree. Just slide the metal strip in loops and put lock on the edge where door latches are.

How about some poison ivy/oak/sumach on the cam?
