Default Is the RUT on?

This picture was taken by one of my Camtrakkers in my Massachusetts swamp, and yes, that is my API Telescoping Packmaster treestand in that clump of trees. It does look like this buck is checking to see if this doe is receptive byt he's in full velvet, and the picture was taken in June.

Sweet,

That’s got to be exciting seeing that under your stand. As for your question, I wish I had an answer but I don’t. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

My wheels are turning big time with anticipation. Today I did a little practice shooting with my cross bow. And fired a few slugs through a Browning BPS I bought this morning. It won’t be long now.

I do understand. My Maine early season starts September 9th I believe. My Massachusetts season starts October 16th.

September 9th… you lucky dog. My sister and her family live in Maine in the town Bridgeton. There’s a lake at the bottom of their property and Pleasant Mountain is on the other side of the lake. In the morning you can see Moose drinking from the lake and she has Turkey walking threw her back yard all the time.

Now for the kicker… she won’t let me hunt there. She says it’s cruel and her husband agrees. She actually bought 300 acres of land running down to the lake and posted no hunting signs everywhere.

Last fall I was up there and I took a turkey call with me to see if I could call them in. I sat out on her back deck with a cup of coffee watching the sun come up and bounce light off of the Mountain. Within minutes the gobblers were answering my call and walked right into her back yard. She sat out there with me and did say it was neat seeing them respond to a call but followed up with the comment “ how could you shoot them” I responded let me bring a gun up here and I’ll show you. Things got a little quiet that morning.

You could tell her the same way she can eat turkeys, chickens, an meat from the store, only you kill them yourself. You do not let someone else do the dirty work.

Looks like he could be interested...or he could just be walking, drinking, smelling the water...etc

If you hit him, how exactly do you plan to follow a blood trail

,,,,,, Easy, the picture was taken in June when there was all that water. Right now there is very little water and plenty of ground.
