Dnk: don't think the choker was dacron, looked like dyed baling twine and shot terribly slow. Probably two different strings here is my guess.

Htoler: thanks for the link, they got stuff forParadox! btw: those strings are double what Miller charges. I can see I'm gonna have to get a chrony.

Dacron is the slowest material but the quietest and the easiest on the limbs. It also has the appearance of coloured waxed bailing twine.

I purchased one string for the Pheonix that looked like the splice was unfinished at the loops. In fact the limbs layed right down when I letoff the string changer. Pulled both splices apart. Glad I eased downthe stringer. It sounds like the dacron flemish?Whats with that???>>>>>>>>>>&gt ;Whack!

Donno Planter, I've heard of that but never seen it. I've gone through quite a few and it hasn't happened to me yet.

Planter i have had that experience, my green and black flemish dacron string pulled thru when i put it on my bow. Not what i was looking fer it to do. Don't know why but it did and its brand new. I'll sent it back to Dan Miller see if he can resplice or just trash can it and not get another one of those.[&o]

Mike, Miller has no other choice but to replace it free of charge if you bought it from him new. When you get the replacement fray the free tag ends to make the ends bigger, pull the fibers of the ends apart as well. Ask Miller what went wrong. The way the ends are woven together makes the string act like a chineese finger trap (ok guys take it easy, LOL, I'm not chineese). The ones I use are from Excalibur. Maybe you guys should use a Canadian flemish string, they might be better! Hehehehe

Dnk: Good tips for sure. I still don't think the "choker" was dacron, going by the texture ect of the Excel string which Dan Miller says is the most twang for the buck on Excals. Lowest loss of fps and easier on limbs. Anyway, I've been crediting you for talking me into using/trying an excel, so guess I was wrong or had my strings crossed.

Smoke: How are you liking the Excel? Did you leave it on?

I didn't buy the string new, DBVixen did. Sent it to me to try out and see if it was quieter than the Flemish or Excel. I put it on shot it about 2 dz. times and it just pulled thru one morning as i went to cock it. I was going to send it back and even pay resplice fee. If he will fix it.[:-][8D]

as most or all of you know my Phoenix died and was replaced with an Exocet 200 I have shot may many arrows down range with the Excaliburs and I have not tried every possible combination of different arrows and all the different strings but have tried the original 350 grain excalibur arrows and tried them with the TenPoint arrows and with the Gold Tip Laser II`s from D. MIller and my thoughts have still not changed , both are great crossbow its a matter of choice. you could not go wrong with either one of the fine crossbows,

shoot what you like like what you shoot
