RE: Ever have a day like this??
The bear is named "Harold" he's a 600 lb. cinnamon, crippled somewhat from broken hip, on display at Queen Wilhemena State park 3 miles from me. The mountain lion "Sheena" is there too, Tom gets in the cage w/ her and plays like she's a house cat, she is very tame and affectionate. Bear in mind the traffic deal was several years ago, the bear was still a cub, and the lion a kitten. Some animals get "humanized" during re-hab, and have to be either kept for educational purposes or put down. There is a grey fox there that's free to leave, but lives in a tree, I've never seen him off of the branch he's on in 4 years. Every spring this guy saves 30-40 fawns that people bring him that they should have left alone, and they have to be fed every 2 1/2 hrs, which takes three people as you have to put a tube down their throat, don't ask why, I don't know and I've helped on many. He's got a black buzzard "Buzzy" that had to be caged after he ate a $300 Harley seat. Tom would come out of Mal-Wart and the buzzard would have flown off the mountain and be sitting on the cab of his truck! Tom lives in town 12 miles from zoo. Just some local trivia thought ya'll might find interesting.
