RE: My 1st catch and release of the season!
Late sept I think maybe October. I don't know because I am too buisy at work during Sept. I start with waterfowl in the beginning of October and it goes up hill from there. In Ontario it starts as early as mid-Sept but most archery goes from Oct 1 to Dec 31st. Most of my archery hunting is in Nov to the Dec 31st. I am almost always hunting on the last day. During the last or second last week of Nov my friends and I (Frank and Dave) go to the Peace River area near Fairview to hunt..get this... white tail, mulies, moose and elk. Yup all four are there for the taking, hehehee its a blast. There are some big ass whities and mulies there. Lots of rag horn elk but still some respectable elk too. Moose are, well for shooting and eating, no big antlers but mostly farm moose. They all taste.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm great because they eat so much in the way of crops. We never hunt them but Peace River has the largest variety of colour phases of black bear. Lots of blonds, cinnamon, black, browns etc. Check out Fairview, Alberta on Google Earth. Its way up there. About 5 hours south of the north west territories and 5 hours east of Dawson Creek.
I know too much information! LOL
