Default Trail cams?

Just got mine put up today! I had bought a cuddeback the first of the year but could not bring myself to leave 400 bucks in the woods, just that little cable made me nervous. I am the only one with permission but that only stops honest people. So I made a 10 gauge steel box that has a non-accessable lock. I think the only way someone could get the camera is cut down the tree or destroy the camera in the process. Will get pics of it the first time I go out and get the memory card. But as for the reasons for the post do any of you guys have trail cams? and if so what kind and post some of your favorite pics.

I have been thinking about it, but wanted to see some more pictures on the forum and the make of camera. So far I like the Leafriver cam.

Good your you Hotburn. I've wanted one for years but could not yet make myself buy one. I am getting closer to buying one. I hope for you nothing bad happens. I guess the best thing is to make sure the cam is not visible. I am sure you will be thrilled at your first pictures. Is it digital? I hope you share your first pics with us!

congrats. on the new cam. I have two that I have had for a few years now. the first one I got was a Moultrie 35 mm. it took two d cell for the works and a 6 volt latern battery for the rest of the camera and stuff. large and bulky, but works really well.the only thing is you have to have the pic's. developed.

then I have the stealth cam. it does pretty well also.same with the film.[:'(]
I got one of Moultries digital cma's. but it was to slow. I tested it in the yard. every time I walked by reeeeeeeal sloooooow it took a pic. but there was nothing in it.the only pic. I got was when I would stop and move my hands.[:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:@][:@][:@]returned it for refund.gonna get another , but haven't decided on which one I want.

they both have taken many, many pic's.
this was the Moultrie

this is with the stealth cam.

both are pretty good.

Treeclimber,,,,,, Those are two great pictures.

I have 4 different types fo cameras, 2 Camtrakkers, 3 Deer-Cams, 1 WildView, and 1 IR. The Camtrakkers and the Deer-Cams are film. I would not buy anther Wildview because it takes too many pictures of everything in front of it, being trees, branches, flowers, leaves, etc. The Wildview is the only camera I've had that has caused deer to change there travel pattern to avoid the camera. The IR camera is something else and nice.

These are two IR pictures taken last November

My main trail cam is a video unit modified for InfraRed.My second cam is a 4 meg pixel digital also IrfraRed. Both cams are home built from components available hereon the web.I shy away from visible light due to someone seeing the flash. Stealth cam so to speak.

Take a look at some sample footage off of the IR Video

I have a stealth cam mg2 and i love it, despite all the bad reviews it gets on this forum. Ive had it for 3 years now i think and havent had a single problem with it. Last year it was attacked by a bear and that rascal left a dime sized hole in the sensor, and it still senses and takes great pics. here are a few i got this year. the pics werent in b&w when i got em that somehow happened in the scanning process

here is a real bruiser that was seen a few times in the area during early bow season then fell right off the radar this is the only pic we got of him

one of the bears we have around the area looks like just a lil guy

enjoy!!!
