Default NEED HELP PICKING OUT NEW BOW!!!

I'm just getting into bow hunting for whitetails. I was wondering what you guys would suggest for a first bow. I have been told by retailers to go with hoyt, matthews, or parker. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks for the help

I suggest a High Country. They are great bows, with a great warrenty. I shoot a Brute Force, which is a spectactular bow. It's compact, and quick. The High Country bow's are a lot like Mathew's without the huge price tag. High Country's aren't cheap, but they are well worth the money. I'm a High Country man for life. Just my opinion.

I like PSE. I have a thunderbolt With the lightening cam. I have about 400 dollars in it with stabilizer, rest, sights. I have had 3 PSE bows and no problems.

Well, I'll beat some of the others to the punch with my advice, lol. The popular advice around here is usually the best:
1. If this is your first bow, go with something that provides accuracy and shootability over speed. Those speed bows are hard to reign in, especially for a beginner.
2. Determine what bows are in your budget.
3. Shoot as many of them as possible before making a decision.
4. After the purchase and tuning process, PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE.
5. When you think you are ready....GO PRACTICE A LITTLE MORE.

That being said, I shoot a Buckmaster Hypertech. Good little bow, not very heavy and didn't put to much of a dent in the wallet.

Good Luck with your decision, purchase, and exploration of the wonderful<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> world of bowhunting.

Good luck. It is like picking new shoes - way too many. I did about 1 year of research and reading before buying my second bow. I don't know about you but I have a limited budget. My wife would disagree with the amount of hunting stuff I have invested in however.

I wanted a bow that would last me the rest of my life so it had to have a good warranty but had to be prices right so that I could get the accessories I wanted. I settled on a Champion and I love it.

Like I said before, good luck.

If you are wanting bang for the buck, it's hard to beat a Jennings Buckmaster Bow.

Truth of the matter is though, that most reputable manufacturers: Hoyt, Matthews, Jennings, High Country, PSE, etc. ALL make a good and reliable product. The only real difference are the bells and whistles and personal preference: (aka: look, feel, etc.)

Jennings puts a lot of bells and whistles on their product for a good price. I've never regretted buying mine.

If your looking for a very afordable bow that comes fully ready to hunt I would suggest the Reflex Bighorn It is a great bow for a begginer. I had mine for about 3 yrs with no trouble at all. Just purchased a new matthews and was just as happy with my Reflex. Just a suggestion.
