Default Do you buy "earth scent"?

Wafers I guess is the most popular form to buy "Earth scent". Why? I mean why buy it? Isn't there enough "earth scent" on the ground where you hunt? Can't a feller just pick up a handful, rub it on, put it in your pockets? Wouldn't that work?

I wouldn't buy pine scent if I were hunting in a pine forest. I'd simply get some sap off of one of the trees and/or perhaps cut a few boughs to slip into my clothing box...

I believe as far as the earth scent goes that when it is dry there is not much earth scent so picking up a handfull and putting it in your pocket dosn't get anywhere. The waffers go in my box when I store my hunting duds over the summer. As for the pine sap, it's sticky and I don't like that as it picks up all sorts of other things as well.

If I am hunitng pine I will pick up a pine bough and put it into a plastic bag and lay that at the bottom of my storage container to allow the scent to my camo.

My 2 cents

No. I want to smell like nothing, a ghost in the wind.

I'm not much into paying for scent. If I want my hunting clothes to smell like dirt or pine, then a bunch of it put in the bag the clothes are stored in, will work good enough for me.

I sray a ton of earth flavored scent killer on my boots every trip to the woods. I have yet to see a deer spook when crossing my trail since I started doing this.

My hunting clothes are always placed in sealed containers with dirt and leaves, but ever time I enter the woods I grab dirt, weeds, leaves, etc. and rub all over my clothing, including my hands, hat, boots, everything, but I want to be sure Iam not grabbing poison. I do this as soon as I step into field, or woods before I even get close to my hunting destination. This has been working great for many years.

HUNT ALL DAY and wish all hunters the best of luck this season.

I buy/ use the earth wafers religiously. They are a great unobrtusive cover. It is easier to just hang one from my hat and go. I also leave one at the bottom of my gear box along with a few evergreen branches. It has never seemed to spook deer either. just my .02

i do spray original scent killer, but i do also use the pine bow method for there is a vast number of pines where i hunt

Buck or doe big or small they all taste the same and are a trophy in my book.

all my camo is 3-d but i still roll aroind in the brush before entering the hunting srea.

i hunt alot in the tops of pine trees so i see no need to use any form of scents.

i strongly beleive that you should become a product of you environment. if you hunt on a dairy or cattle farm then get some of the good stuff and rub in on you rubber bots it will wash off. use mother nature when you can.

hunt on and hunt hard

Nothing but scent eliminator for me....but I used to use the Earth Scent dryer sheets and the scent wafers. That was before I began using Scent-Lok clothing. They say that w/Scent Lok, you shouldn't use ANY type of scent.

Good luck!
