I think there cheaply made and for me too hard to manuver. Here is what I did to my X4 Golioth:
I took the strapping from an old safty belt abd pop rivited to the stand and used the bunge cord that comes with the stirrups. The strapping has to be riged so it will stand up elematating you bending over to insert your feet. Works better for me.

Thanks Drstalker. As you can see I left the rappid stirrups on just in the slim chance that a pop rivit might work it's way out I would still have a way down. The stirrups IMO should have been marketed to the owners of the older stands and all the X4 models should be made with them incorperated into the mold of the stand instead of the flimsy plastic add on's.

I have them on my bullet backpacker. With the exception of having to move them from where I need them to climb and descend to fold the stand flat they are great. They make getting up the tree quietly a lot easier.

I have the stirrups on my Summit Viper Classic and for the most part, love them. My only complaint is in trying to get them tight enough to not move at all. They move some, but it is a minor annoyance. I like the previous post with the strap setup. My only problem with that is that my legs are pretty long and I climb better with my toes pointed away from the climber.

Love em. I was worried about how they would hold up but they performed great. I will be getting a new Bushmaster X5 this year. This will be my 5th new Summit climbing stand. I don't think you can beat their stands. I somethime wish they would stop improving on them so I could save some money but oh well. Maybe they will start some sort of buy 5 and get one free deal??????
