Go to bowjackson.com and download the easton tuning guide. It will take you through all of the tuning processes.
When you say that you made sure the arrows were flying true which arrows are you talking about? The 2219's or the Carbon Express arrows.
Sights have nothing to do with tuning a bow.
Basically tuning a bow involves selecting the correctly spined shaft for your bow, selecting the correct tip weight for the shaft, and making the necessary adjustments to your rest and nock positions to get the arrow to come perfectly straight off your bow.
No one but you can tune your own bow. You should definetly have a knowledgable person there to help you but he can not shoot it and say it is tuned for you. Every one's physical dimensions are different and every one holds the bow slightly different when shooting it. One person can shoot a bow perfectly and hand it over to someone else and that person could be all over the target.

Carbon arrows weigh just the same as aluminum. Some, in fact, are over 11 grains per inch. The difference is diameter. THey get the same weight with smaller diameter, decreasing resistance and INCREASING penetration. I would also bet an out of tune bow, or just too light an arrow.
Kind of late in the thread to be asking this question , but what kind of setup do you shoot?
What bow , poundage , draw length?
