I've used a string loop for year's as well ,but this past season I decided to go without the loop so as to eliminate what ever I could off of my string .Although shooting from the string is a little abusive to the serving's , but I'm shooting better without it and have no plan's on putting another loop on at this time.

There was a thread a couple weeks ago regarding the effects of string loops. I personally believe that your draw length should not change. However, your anchor point will have to change due to the added length of the string loop.

I switched to a string loop last year and had no problems. The pro shop that installed mine did adjust my draw length from 30 to 29.5 inches. My old release (a ball bearing type) wore my serving out in no time it seemed....something that I don't worry about now. I went to the loop and a caliper style release and never looked back.

I shot without one for years but now I'd never consider shooting without one.

Been splitting arrows for some time now....always with a loop.
Needless to say...no complaints.

A sting loop is a piece of string you tie to your bow string. You put your arrow between it and clip your release on it.

I don't use one and don't see a need to. Why not put a new serving on the string once in a while. Everybody ought to learn how to do that anyway.
